There is no universal interval: usage, mechanical condition, ageing parts and the manufacturer’s recommendations determine when inspection is appropriate.
Can any engineer work on Studer, Revox or Otari decks?
Not necessarily. Confirm their model-specific experience, access to parts and suitable reference test tapes.
What information should I give a workshop?
Provide the model, serial number, symptoms, photos, electrical configuration and preferred tape operating standard.
Are listings officially endorsed?
